Erik Weise is a screenwriter from Berlin who lives in Bernau, near Berlin. He writes for film and television, with a soft spot for material that wouldn't clear notes anywhere else. Production came before writing: he financed, shot, and edited his first films himself, usually with too little budget and too much enthusiasm. That experience still shapes how he writes — every idea first has to answer the question of whether it can actually be shot.
His debut, ‘All Clowns Are Bastards’, a horror comedy about a killer clown who goes vegan, won Best Trash Film at Fright Nights in 2023 and was released via Soundwood Media. For his second feature, ‘Die neue Härte’, a mix of black comedy, thriller, and fantasy, he wrote the script and took on production. The film is currently in distribution.
He studied Digital Film Production at SAE Institute Berlin, which in practice mostly means he knows what a set looks like from the inside.
He's working on several projects at once, from genre comedy to thriller. Whoever works with him doesn't get a diagnosis, but three ways out of the problem.

Civic Advocacy & Animal Welfare
Alongside writing, he leads a citizens' initiative for a sidewalk on his street in Bernau and has built a digital found-animal assistant app that helps people quickly find the right contact for an animal they've found in the wild. Neither has anything to do with film, and yet both have a lot to do with dramaturgy. Those stories live under “Aside”.
